It’s been a long time since we were confronted with some real-life Britney nudity, but it looks like the "controversial" side of the popwreck is slowly making a comeback. Mercifully, this "nudity revival" isn’t coming from Britney herself - however, it does bring back some long-forgotten flavors from the singer’s past - before the whole "aimless driving, vagina flashing" era. There were those infamous, post-rehab photos with Britney covering her nipples with flowers, and her impromptu ocean skinny dipping session, before the singer’s "slightly awkward" antics turned into the fully-fledged "insane" behavior that landed Britney in the psych ward. This shot of the singer completely naked, tanning her a*s up is probably a vintage semi-porn Britney shot from about the same long-lost age, however it only surfaced a few days ago and is worth mentioning - for old times’ sake.

The interesting part is that the photo has also been slightly altered digitally, especially in the a*s region. While there’s no doubt in anyone’s mind it’s really Britney in it - we all know there’s no mistaking that messy weave - there are some people who claim that the singer wasn’t really naked, but merely topless when the shot was taken, and that her bikini bottoms were digitally removed to make her look like she was showing off the full monty. Indeed, there seems to have been some altering done to the singer’s rear end, but the photo’s overall quality is not that good and it could all be down to lighting, angle or merely the fact that Britney had an uneven tan at the time.

The even funnier part is that at the time when the photo was taken, Britney was not alone, and if indeed she was stark naked, this gives "narcissism" a whole new meaning. On the other hand, if the photo has been digitally altered to make the singer look naked, then having some company while sunbathing topless would probably make much more sense. Britney’s pose in this shot - whether she’s really nude or not - is an entirely different business though, and the cigarette in her hand makes her look extra classy and refined. However, it’s impressive someone could take this shot and come this close to the singer, given the fact that she’s usually very well protected from prying eyes. Let us all hope this was an exception.
